Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: German Air Force (GAF) reports of the results of air attacks on the Suez Canal area and Alexandria harbour, and various flights over the coast and sea between Crete and Africa; the postponement of the sailing of the tanker SS Tinos from Piraeus to Benghazi until September 12; reports by the Japanese ambassador in Berlin of the reinforcement of the German Army in Africa under Lieutenant General Rommel; comments that American feeling against participation in the war has strengthened since the involvement of the Soviet Union; a report of possible Soviet military intervention to remove German nationals in Iran; and a report from the Turkish minister in Stockholm of the Finnish position in the Soviet-German war.
