Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: of German Air Force (GAF) liaison staff in Italy questioning reports that an English convoy was practically destroyed west of Portugal, as it is still in Gibraltar; reports of special operations in the Suez area, including minelaying and an attack on an oil refinery; the retreat of the Soviets in the face of the 2nd Army, covered by bombing attacks on the bridgehead east of Chernigov; the relaying by the Foreign Ministry in Rome of a message from Shanghai to the embassy in Washington outlining the Chinese puppet government's policy towards the Axis; and a report from the Italian minister in Tehran noting an Anglo-Soviet request that the entire German colony in Iran be handed over to the British.
