This file includes the following reports: of German Air Force (GAF) liaison staff in Italy questioning reports that an English convoy was practically destroyed west of Portugal, as it is still in Gibraltar; reports of special operations in the Suez area, including minelaying and an attack on an oil refinery; the retreat of the Soviets in the face of the 2nd Army, covered by bombing attacks on the bridgehead east of Chernigov; the relaying by the Foreign Ministry in Rome of a message from Shanghai to the embassy in Washington outlining the Chinese puppet government's policy towards the Axis; and a report from the Italian minister in Tehran noting an Anglo-Soviet request that the entire German colony in Iran be handed over to the British.
