A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: on operational orders sent from the 4th Air Fleet to units in Romania outlining the situation in Army Group South's area of operations; on the German front line as of September 6; of the crash of a Focke-Wulf Condor aircraft soon after take-off for unknown reasons; on the transfer of glider personnel from Belgium to the 11th Air Corps in eastern Germany on September 1; and on German Air Force (GAF) instructions concerning forced landings in countries of various degrees of neutrality. This file also includes a Naval Headlines report of U-boat activity; the expected return of the cruiser Admiral Scheer from Oslo to the Baltic on September 7; that all land-lines of the 3rd Defence Division (with responsibility from Cherbourg to Lorient) had been put out of action by aerial attack; and that the ship SS Oslebshausen was sunk by an aerial torpedo attack off Egersund.
