A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: a Naval Headlines report, describing the spotting of a westbound convoy by an aircraft, and the dispatch of a group of eight U-boats directed to intercept it; signals intelligence in the form of a report from the Italian minister in Kabul reporting the Afghan government's attitude to possible British demands about the expulsion of German and Italian residents; a memorandum from the Prime Minister (PM) to the Foreign Secretary regarding this expulsion; and a reply from the Foreign Secretary with a draft telegram.
