Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: on the strength of the German Air Force (GAF) in northern Norway on August 24; a report by the Italian minister in Lisbon of a meeting with a Portuguese official at which they discussed Portuguese neutrality; a report from the Italian minister in Tehran of an interview with the Iranian Foreign Minister regarding British-Soviet cooperation and the Soviet invasion of the northern provinces; a report by the Turkish ambassador to Moscow summarising his assessment of British intentions towards Iran and Turkey; a report by the Turkish ambassador in London assessing the implications of the Atlantic Conference, particularly the concept of neutrality; and a report by the Turkish ambassador in Washington of the American view of the Anglo-Soviet action in Iran.
