Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: reports of a shortage of German Air Force (GAF) ground support staff in North Africa; a suspected minefield off Bardia; Italian reports of troop and supply ships en route from Bombay and Colombo to Egypt; the completion of the transfer of the German 10th Air Corps to Greece; a message informing the Chinese ambassador to London of his government's disappointment at not being invited to attend British-American-Soviet meetings in Moscow; and a report from the Turkish ambassador to Moscow of the Iranian response to Anglo-Soviet observations on the presence of Germans in Iran.
