A file of reports, memoranda, and correspondence concerning British intelligence liaison with the post-colonial Burmese government, and the changes necessitated by Burmese independence. The documents include a report of a meeting with the Burmese Prime Minister to inform him of British intelligence activities in Burma; a set of instructions to the security liaison officer in Burma; and memoranda discussing the officer’s precise duties, including a debate over whether he should be permitted to recruit and operate agents, or restrict his work to liaison and exchange of information with the Burmese government.
