The reports cover – in great detail – the illegal entry into British embassies and consulates by Japanese troops; the British destruction of secret documents; the arrest and imprisonment of British subjects including women and children; their treatment in prison camps; and the seizure of British property by the Japanese. The file also includes reports of a massacre of Australian soldiers in Japanese captivity, and an account of the British treatment of Japanese consular staff in Kenya.
