Documents in this file include a detailed eyewitness account of Churchill's trip to Moscow in 1942, including his meetings with Stalin, covering their talks about the second front and opinions of each other; correspondence discussing Russian pressure for Britain to declare war on Finland, Hungary, and Romania; an investigation into intelligence leaks to journalists about Operation Torch, suspected to come from Russian sources to encourage the opening of a second front; letters discussing the post-war territorial demands of the U.S.S.R.; a memorandum noting Soviet reluctance to share intelligence with the Western allies; and a report on the economic situation in the U.S.S.R. compiled from telephone intercepts.
