The letters describe the propaganda work that was being carried out by the Frischauers; discuss the potential security risk posed by them; and record the efforts made to secure their release. The file also contains a number of letters attempting to discover several documents relating to an abortive attempt to make peace in 1940 that have disappeared from the Foreign Office archives.
