Documents include instructions from the British government for Zaharoff; a letter about Zaharoff’s endowment of a British university chair; letters giving further details of a possible separate peace deal with Turkey, to include the opening of the Dardanelles and withdrawal of Turkish troops from Palestine; a report by Zaharoff of a journey to Switzerland for unsuccessful final negotiations with representatives of Enver Pasha over the Turkish deal, at which the money paid to Enver was partially returned; a letter mentioning information received about German submarines in Vladivostok; a report from the same source of German military involvement in Asia and letters from Zaharoff commenting on the progress of the war and American intervention.
