BLOCKADE. 6. Aegean. As the Black Sea is closed to shipping and as it is no longer possible to ship goods in Turkish bottoms via Bulgarian ports, the Axis are inaugurating as a matter of urgency a service between Istanbul and Trieste. Six vessels are loading in Istanbul and two more are to be sent from the Adriatic. There are indications that these vessels will sail in convoy. As loading draft has been limited to 22 feet, they will presumably be routed through the Corinth Canal. 7. Spain. The German drive to obtain increased supplies, particularly of ferrous and non-ferrous ores, from Spain continues.
