NORTH SEA. 6. Off the South coast of NORWAY and in the SKAGERRAK the ice situation is rather worse and there is much ice within about 4 miles of the coast to the East of KRISTIANSAND: many ships are icebound. The situation at German ports is about the same but the next week or so should see a considerable improvement. Dutch ports except DELFZIJL (River Ems) are probably normal. 7. Passage of Great Belt. Since yesterday 27th ice has been blown clear of Eastern shore and though no shipping has been reported it is probable that powerful ships could now force passage without ice breakers.
