MEDITERRANEAN. ENEMY SHIPPING. 4. German efforts to secure Spanish tonnage for the Libyan Supply Services which have been continuing intermittently since June 1941, have recently been intensified. During the past month 8 Spanish ships totalling more than 4,000 g.r.t. have been purchased by the Germans. 5. In all 18 small coasting ships have been acquired for these supply routes; including the "BERGA" which was seized at GIBRALTAR..
