1 Jan 1942

The first of these measures has already substantially reduced the flow of Turkish goods to Germany via Burgas and Varna and the second should make for further reduction. (Up to the beginning of December 1941 about 5,000 tons of goods were shipped weekly from Turkish ports for enemy account in these small vessels.) The second measure should also defeat the efforts of the Germans to gain control of a substantial number of these small vessels. -2-.
