Certain Moves by German Army and Air Force Units in Southern Tripolitania

(a) to establish advanced landing grounds South of Murzuk, from which to carry out air attacks on the aerodromes on the Takoradi route; (b) to raid, in co-operation with aircraft, the aerodromes on the Takoradi route; (c) to carry out a reconnaissance of the Murzuk area, and gain experience in desert operations; (d) to reinforce the Italian garrison in Murzuk as a defensive measure. Selection of the most probable objective. 5. For the reasons advanced in previous J.I.C. papers the maintenance of a mechanised column in the Chad area would be a most difficult undertaking.
