7. It is also possible that before the Turkish Government would take any action which would bring them into hostilities with the Soviet Union, they would put forward desiderata regarding the future of the Caucasian Republics and demand assurances that in any treaty of peace to be concluded between the Allies and the Soviet Union, these Republics or those inhabited predominantly by Turkish stock should be transferred to Turkey, or put under Turkish protection.
