Russian Troop Movements in Eastern and South East Europe and on the Persian Frontier. Report

1 Apr 1946

ANNEX EASTERN AND SOUTH EAST EUROPE Military Dispositions Germany It seems clear that the Shock Army concentrated near Greifswald in the North Eastern sector of the Soviet Zone, prior to its departure by sea and rail to Russia, has now left. We consider that this army was much under strength and numbered probably not more than 50,000. As a result of the above movements, there has been a regrouping of the remaining Russian Forces between the Baltic and Berlin. 2. Elsewhere there has been little change.
