-3I am ANNEX 'A' Copy of Letter 14th 1946 from Foreign Office dated May, writing to reply to your letter of 9th May. enclosing a copy of a telegram from the Commanders-in-Chief, Middle East, about radio monitoring. The radio monitoring unit in Cairo has hitherto been equipped, staffed and operated by His Majesty's Government and has worked as an appendage of the Middle East Service of the Ministry of Information. An American editor was attached to the staff of the monitoring unit, and received full facilities.
