The Anglo-American Committee of Enquiry into Palestine and the Condition of Jews in Europe Report

1 Apr 1946

ANNEX We consider from our study of the Anglo-American Committee's reportø that the objections of Arabs and Jews respectively will be concentrated on the following points:MAIN ARAB OBJECTIONS 2. (a) The admission of 100,000 Jews into Palestine, especially since the report does not suggest that further immigration should not be permitted, but rather the contrary. This will be taken as an open challenge throughout the Arab world. (b) The lack of finality. There can be no prospect of Arab good will towards the Jewish population in Palestine so long as no limit is set to the irritant of Jewish immigration.
