Intelligence on Atomic Energy Report by the J.I.C.

1 Sep 1945

6. In view, however, of the necessity of continuing the close co-operation with the U.S.A. both technically and as regards intelligence, we have not taken the initiative in proposing any alteration in the existing arrangements for the handling of this intelligence as Sir John Anderson is of the opinion that it is not advisable to raise the matter with the Americans until we know the results of the discussions shortly to take place in Washington. Sir John Anderson is fully conversant with our views and can represent them at those discussions.
