The Yugoslav Problem in Austria During the Coming Winter Note by the Secretary. (Report by J.I.C., A.C.C. Austria)

1 Sep 1945

(f) There is reason to believe that there may be an increase in anti-TITO activity on the part of Jugoslavs in AUSTRIA Moreover, the presence of such elements in the British Military Zone in particular and in AUSTRIA generally, though at present largely ignored by Jugoslav propaganda, may well be exploited for trouble-making purposes. (g) Close supervision of Jugoslav activity within AUSTRIA, coupled with strict frontier control offer the chief and most concrete methods of dealing with raids, espionage, propaganda and other clandestine activities, and, therefore, of minimising the harmful effects which conduct of this kind is causing.
