German Documents and Archives Note by the Secretary

1 Jul 1945

PROPOSAL FOR I.S.O. DOCUMENT LIAISON OFFICERS 1. At the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee Meeting of the 10th July the principle was approved of attaching some officers to I.S.O. for the purpose of giving the Ministries in London, in particular the Civil Ministries, all available information on documents in Germany. 2. It is considered that two officers and two clerks would be the minimum staff required to fulfil this function. 3. The senior officer should be an Army Officer, as all documents in Germany and Austria apart from Naval and Air documents are controlled by the Army, and his deputy and clerks should, if possible, be supplied by a Civil Ministry, as the Civil Ministries are a most interested party.
