Scale of Japanese Opposition to an Assault on Malaya Note by the Secretary

1 Jul 1945

2 A subsidiary assault by one brigade may be put in to the south with object of first securing important bridges at Sepang and then possibly Port Dickson. Naval support will be provided on low priority for this subsidiary assault which will consequently only be safe if light opposition is to be expected. (b) A second division will follow-up at Morib on D Day with object of clearing the road southwards covering the beach approaches to Sepang and exploiting to Seremban and Kuala Lumpur. (c) On D plus 3 one division less one brigade plus one commando brigade will assault with full naval support over beaches south of Port Dickson.
