9. Fighting Efficiency. The Russian Air Force has not recently been short of new aircraft, and there is no reason to suppose that the forces in the Far East in 1944 were equipped to any considerable extent with older types less suited for the West. In making transfers to the Far East some degree of selection may have been exercised in favour of more efficient units. It is likely, therefore, that fighting quality will at least equal that of the Russian Air Force in the war against Germany. Naval Forces 10.
