ANNEX C.558/5 Secretary, Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee Reference J.I.C. (45) 102 (Final). At their meeting today the Defence of Bases Committee considered SEACOS 413, a telegram from S.A.C.S.E.A. regarding reductions in the fixed defences of Ceylon. The Committee considered that in some respects, particularly as regards naval defences, S.A.G.S.E.A.'s proposals went too far. However, before putting their conclusions to the Chiefs of Staff the Committee would be glad of confirmation that the scale of attack given in J.I.C.
