ANNEX REPORT FOLLOWING A CONFERENCE ON GERMAN DOCUMENTS AND ARCHIVES HELD AT M.I.17. WAR OFFICE 28TH JULY, 1945. BRITISH POLICY IN REGARD TO ARCHIVES 1. A comprehensive policy has so far been laid down only in one place the Report of Sub-Committee No. 1 to J.I.C. This included a new Draft Directive, special Recommendations for its implementation, Draft Rules and Regulations, and a Brief for the British representative who would if it was approved by A.C.A.O., submit the Draft to E.A.C. It was also to be submitted to C.C.O.S., with a view to the adoption by S.H.A.E.F.
