Internal Situation in Greece Report by J.I.C.

General Conclusions 12. (a) There is an immediate danger in Greece of civil disorders arising from the imminent financial crisis. There is a longer term danger of civil disorders arising from the chronic political and economic instability of Greece. Such disorders as are likely to occur in the near future are unlikely to extend to civil war on the scale of that which took place in December and January last, although large scale mutinies may take place in the army itself. (b) Russia is unlikely to supply arms direct to anti-Government forces unless H.M.G.
