1 Jan 1945

SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE JOINT INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE J,I.C. SHAEF (45) 6 (Final) 12th February, 1945. ENEMY MOVEMENTS IN HOLLAND 1. Since the beginning of February there have been a number of reports that the Germans have been thinning out in Holland. In districts previously occupied in some strength by the enemy, no German troops are said to be seen; considerable road movement has been noted in Eastern Holland; and the garrison on the island of Schouwen, which was reinforced during January, is reported to have been reduced, and is now probably only about 1000 to 1500 strong.
