(c) To withdraw to a line in Italy covering Istria and the Austrian Alps. This would allow him to release a further 6-7 divisions or (d) To withdraw entirely from Italy and defend the Southern and Southeastern borders of the Reich on the line of the Alps. This course would enable him to release a further 3-4 divisions. 5. These courses, however, are enemy capabilities. There are no certain indications that his present intention is to implement any of them except possibly the first. On present evidence it is believed that only one division has as yet left Italy.
