Use of Chemical Warfare by the Germans Report by J.I.C.

1 Jan 1945

ANNEX. USE OF CHEMICAL WARFARE BY THE GERMANS We examine below the most important evidence we have received since our last report+:(a) Movements of anti-gas equipment to the Western Front and Italy continue. The amounts involved are substantial and in the case of Italy seem to be in excess of normal requirements. There is also evidence of an urgent allocation of anti-gas equipment for a division presumed destined for the Eastern Front. These indications show at least an increasing preparedness for chemical warfare on the part of the Germans on all major fronts.
