ANNEX II J.P. (44) 312 (0) (T. of R.) 11TH DECEMBER, 1944. WAR CABINET JOINT PLANNING STAFF RECAPTURE OF MALAYA Note by the Secretary. The Directors of Plans have agreed with the Future Planning Section's suggestion that their paper "The Recapture of Malaya from the East"* should be followed by a staff study of an assault against Malaya from the West co-ordinated with operations from the East. The period to be considered is spring 1946, and the report "Courses Open to General MacArthur After the Recapture of Luzon"should be taken into account.
