The Enemy's Estimate of Possible Allied Intentions on the Southern Front during the Coming Months

2. Own Situation Army Group South is fighting a heavy delaying action in Northeastern Hungary whilst endeavouring at Budapest to prevent a breach in the Danube line before the withdrawal from Northern Hungary has been completed. Reinforcement of this front may become necessary in the near future. Army Group F is maintaining an escape corridor in Yugoslavia for the withdrawal of Army Group E. This is developing slowly owing to poor and limited communications and deficiencies in transport space. It should nevertheless be possible to hold the flanks and to force routes through to the line Kraljevo Sarajevo Mostar.
