ANNEX 1. Goal The Ruhr produces about 120 million tons of hard coal a year of which 70 million tons are consumed in the Ruhr itself. Germany. excluding the Ruhr, Aachen, and Saar, at present consumes the following annual quantities of coal:From the Ruhr (hard coal) 50 million tons From elsewhere in Germany (hard coal) 40 " " Brown coal (in terms of hard coal) 60 " " 150 " " The 80 million tons of hard coal a year produced in those parts of Poland and Czechoslovakia occupied by Germany are consumed in those countries.
