WAR CABINET JOINT PLANNING STAFF FURTHER OPERATIONS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN THEATER Note by the Secretary * The Combined Chiefs of Staff informed General Wilson on 19th September, 1944, that he might count on having the amphibious left now in the Mediterranean for planning the capture of the Istrian Peninsula and instructed him to submit his plan not later than 10th October, 1944.
