ANNEX. Proposed Message from Chiefs of Staff. We, the Chiefs of Staff, wish to welcome you on your release from captivity and return to British hands, and to congratulate you on the excellent work so many of you have done to further the war effort during captivity. We wish to give you one word of warning in the interests of the safety of your comrades now prisoners of war in Japanese hands. It is this. You must maintain the strictest silence on all secret activities of which you have knowledge or in which you have taken part during your captivity.
