Reconnaissance shows that repair activity at all the damaged plants continues with undiminished vigour. There has been no indication that any of the more seriously damaged plants were being abandoned or cannibalised to facilitate repairs elsewhere; attempts are being made to bring back all the plants into production regardless of the amount of damage that has been done. Evidence of Shortages 5. There is continuing evidence that shortage of oil is causing the German authorities the greatest anxiety.
