3. The following assumptions should be mode:(a) The war in Europe is in its final stages. (b) Present planned Pacific operations would take place without alteration up to the capture of the Palau Islands in September, 1944. (c) The operation against Kyushu would take place instead of the present approved operation against Mindanao. (d) Russia has not entered the war. 4. The Joint Intelligence Staff is invited to provide the Strategical Planning Section with answers on these questions. (Signed) M.F.
