(44) 161(0) (T. of R.) 8TH JUNE, 1944. ] EXPLOITATION FROM NORTHERN ITALY Note by the Secretary. * At their meeting today, the Chiefs of Staff instructed the Joint Planning Staff to prepare a breif appreciation of what could be done in collaboration with the Partisans in Yugoslavia to exploit a favourable development of the situation in North Italy. 2. The report should take General Alexander's appreciation+ as a basis and should proceed on the following assumptions:(a) That the forces and administrative resources now at General Alexander's disposal remain intact and that he continues to enjoy the full support of M.A.T.A.F.
