1 Jun 1944

TOP SECRET THE SECRETARY, 6th June, 1944. J.I.C. 1. We have been instructed (J.P.(44) 155 (S) T. of R.) to consider an exchange of minutes between the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs regarding the provision of a British Force for the occupation of Athens. One of the main political objects of the operation would be to prevent E.A.M. seizing power by a coup d'etat.
