1 Jun 1944

APPENDIX "A" SCALE AND SCOPE OF THE OPERATION 1. We consider that if the enemy decided to mount this operation it might take one of the following forms: (a) An amphibious assault, possibly supplemented by an airborne or parachutist attack, with the object of capturing the island and thereafter denying its use to the Allies by maintaining a garrison on it. (b) A seaborne raid, with or without airborne or parachutist assistance with the object of doing as much damage as possible before withdrawing.
