For Lamplough from J.I.C. reference ULTRA 168 (para. 2) addressed chapman. Land Forces In J.I.C.(44) 128 (0) Annex IV, dated 5th April, we adhere to belief expressed in J.P.(44) 47 Annex III, that by November 1944, likely to be some 6 divisions in Malaya Sumatra Andamans area. Do not think successful U.S. Pacific advance will deter Japan from reinforcing present 3 divisions in this area because reinforcement of further 3 divisions will be regarded by Japanese as essential if they are to hold Singapore and N.E.I.
