ANNEX AIR STRIKE AGAINST THE JAPANESE FLEET In your Minute FPS/44/53 you asked the following questions in connexion with the plan+ to attack the Japanese Fleet at Singapore:(i) What are the chances of the Javanese discovering the construction of the landing strip on the COCOS before P.R. and the strike take place? (ii) What would be their reactions to its discovery both before and after the strike? (iii) Would the Japanese fleet move from Singapore after the P.R. seeing that it may be a precursor to an air or submarine attack and would it do so immediately? Assuming:(a) an air strip can be constructed in the Cocos Islands within a week; (b) P.R.
