8. FUNCTIONS OF J.I.C. J.I.C. directs the organisation, co-ordination and dissemination of all types of intelligence produced within the Middle East Military Command. It advises the Defence Committee and Commanders-in-Chief (and, where appropriate, the Balkan Affairs Committee) on all matters of intelligence policy and organisation. J.I.C. will be responsible for ensuring that intelligence of all natures collated in the Middle East is produced with the maximum economy of effort and is authorised to make recommendations to this end as necessary to the Defence Committee and/or Commanders-inChief.
