To estimate the situation in Europe with reference to the possibility of undertaking Operation RANKIN prior to mid-May+ 1944 under any one of the following alternative conditions: Case A Such substantial weakening of the strength and morale of the German armed forces as will permit successful assault with the available Anglo-American forces.
