ANNEX II AEGEAN AXIS SUPPLY SITUATION Since 10.7.43, when HUSKY sealed off the Western from the Eastern Mediterranean, up to 29.2.44, a total tonnage of 79,000 out of 152,000 (after deducting the 50,000 G.R.T. that came over to the Allies after the collapse of Italy) has been destroyed by Allied action in the Aegean. 2. The losses during the last month alone amounted to just under 16,000 tons, including 4 vessels of over 1,000 G.R.T., one of which was the largest vessel then operating in that area.
