Against this background on the Home front, the German High Command is faced with the fact that production of tanks is already inadequate to meet wastage in the field. The inadequacy of aircraft and ancillary production is even more grave. So far there is no evidence of any other major shortage of equipment on the fighting fronts, though the bombing offensive may be in process of producing shortages which we cannot as yet predict.
