ANNEX Extract from the Minutes of the C.O.S.(44) 59th Meeting (0) of 24th February, 1944 19. DEFENCE PLAN FOR PERSIAN GULF PORTS, BASES, L. OF Cs., AND OILFIELDS (C.O.S.(44) 36) THE COMMITTEE had before them a Report by the Defence of Bases Committee recommending certain reductions in the defences in the Persian Gulf area which had been incorporated in a Revised Plan. They had, however, proposed the retention of all anti-aircraft batteries. LT.-GENERAL NYE said that he was not happy about these proposals.
