It is issued for the personal use of TOP SECRET Copy No. 14 Reference J.I.C.(44) 53 (0) 27th September, 1944 WAR CABINET JOINT INTELLIGENCE SUB-COMMITTEE BOMBING TARGETS IN THE BALKANS Note by the Secretary The Chiefs of Staff at their meeting yesterday* decided that, in view of the recent decision of the Combined Chiefs of Staff+ regarding the control of strategic bomber forces, directives for air operations against South East Europe should in future be issued by the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff and General Spaatz in the same way as other directives regarding strategic bombing, and that therefore the weekly reports from the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee on air operations against South East Europe were no longer required.
