ANNEX FPS/43/A23 MOST SECRET Secretary, J.I.C. [Copy to Secretary, J.P.S.] We are studying the redeployment of United Nations Air Forces in the Central and South West Pacific from 1945 onwards, on the following assumptions:(a) Operations in the Pacific during 1944 have been successfully carried out and the Allies hold the following forward bases:North Coast of New Guinea. Marianas (including Guam). Carolines (including Truk). Pelews and Marshalls. (b) We have an advanced Naval base at Truk. (c) Considerable landing ground construction is being carried out in the Marianas and Pelews with a view to establishing V.L.R.
